The Beacon Pathway to Hope 5K Run/Walk, plus a Kids Fun Run of about 1/2 mile, and a Limbo contest were all held Saturday morning at Belleville West High School. About 300 people competed in the 5K Run/Walk, with a couple dozen youngsters running in the Kids Fun Run afterwards. It was all followed up by an attempt to put on the Metro-East's largest limbo contest as a finale with hundreds joining in the fun. Here the two top finishers are shown approaching the finish line of the 5K Run/Walk. Kole Rakers (left) won the event, finishing with a time of 18:32. He is from Millstadt and is a college sophomore. Brittney Burmester lost to Rakers by 00:01 --- she finished with a time of 18:33. She is 20, and is from Red Bud.
