Illinois State Police crime scene investigator Grant Hentze holds an electronic digital thermometer through a rear window as he takes a reading of the interior temperature. A 23 month-old boy died in the car when he was left inside for over two hours on Thursday during the hottest point of the day.  The toddler's body temperature was 104.6 degrees according to the St. Clair County Coroner.
