Ishaiah Williams, 14, an incoming Althoff HS freshman from Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School, holds up a small vial containing a sample of his own DNA. Students then added certain chemicals to cause the DNA to form into suspended strands, visible to the human eye. He and 16 other Junior high school and incoming freshmen students at Althoff's Upward Bound "academic boot camp" learned about DNA "fingerprinting" and other high-tech theories over the summer.
