Mike Labar (left) and C.J. Miller hook up the two-inch water pipe to a 200 gallon transport tank on a trailer. They used three quarters, and topped off the tank. They were taking the water to the farm of Bob Sigman to water 2 1/2 acres of soybeans he has planted. People in Mascoutah have access to this 24/7 self-service water sales facility which is located at the city's water department. For a quarter, you get about 40 seconds of water through a two-inch pipe, or roughly 70 gallons of water. Farmers and others make use of it to fill portable water tanks they haul in the beds of pickup trucks.
