TV SEMI STUCK ON TRACKS.jpg
TV SEMI STUCK ON TRACKS.A semi truck driver got his southbound rig stuck on the South 17th Street railroad crossing moments before an eastbound Canadian National train was due to come through the Belleville crossing. The train engineer luckily saw the stuck semi and was able to stop his train at a distance of about one hundred yards from the crossing. The truck had to be towed off the tracks, which resulted in traffic congestion on South 17th and at it's intersection with West Main Street. No one was injured. The train speed limit through that area is about 30 mph, but the train may have been going slower, which assisted in the quick stop short of the truck..BND/TIM VIZER 10/18/06 STANDALONE
