Monty Webster from Godfrey does a handstand while water skiing the Mississippi River to raise money for charity on New Year's Day. Webster customized the board himself, by taking a conventional waterski "knee board" and modifying it with the addition of special grips he holds so he can flip over into the handstand position. He and other advanced skiers took to the cold waters at the base of the Gateway Arch to raise funds for the Missouri Disabled Water Ski Association. At the start of the event, they had received over $4000 in pledges and donations, and expected that figure to grow higher. To find out about making a donation go to www.mdwsa.org for more information.
