The local band Old Salt Union has the crowd tapping their feet to the beat as they cranked out slam-bluegrass music (also known as "new" bluegrass) at the first Belleville Brew & Que in downtown Belleville. This first-ever event featured a Barbecue Challenge and craft beer tasting at 20 downtown businesses. Three bands played during the event, which ran from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Craft Beer Walk ran from noon to 4 p.m. at select downtown Belleville merchants. For a $15 ticket, you could have 16 tastings of a wide variety of craft beers. The Barbecue Challenge ran all day, with vendors selling samples of two meats for $1, or a meaty rib bone for $2.
