.Granite City Police officer Eric Bailey congratulates and rewards his canine partner Kof, a male German Shepherd, after completing the obedience portion of canine field trials being held in O'Fallon this weekend.  The dogs must respond to verbal and hand signals during the drills as they walk a course, doing a series of turns and stop-and-starts. This part of the competition was held on the O'Fallon HS soccer field. O'Fallon police are hosting the Region 16 USPCA (United States Police Canine Association) field trials.  Between 20 and 30 teams are participating from police departments throughout central and Southern Illinois.  Other areas of competition include agility test, obstacle course, evidence and suspect search, and criminal apprehension.
